Volunteer-Led Events: Poetry Off Paper (Open Mic)
This event is part of a brand new series that are volunteer-led! Anyone from the Drawing Room community can learn more and submit a proposal here.
Let your poems come off the paper in this open mic event designed to create a supportive space for poets to perform their writing. Come share your work or just listen to others!
Writing is the true window to the soul, use your voice to speak your words that give a glance into your mind and heart. Whether your piece rhymes or doesn’t, is memorized or read from your phone, poetry knows no bounds.
Sign ups for readings will be on a first come, first serve basis day of the event. Performers are given a 5 minute maximum time slot. Welcoming to first-time performers, no prior performance experience is necessary! After performances conclude, there will be an opportunity to connect with each other.
IMPORTANT NOTES: All tickets are final sale. We are a shoes-off, socks-required space; please bring your own socks or we have some for purchase for $1. Our events are geared towards connection through creativity; for many, you will be sitting around shared tables. Unfortunately, during ticketed events, we are unable to accommodate any children/babies under 5 years of age. Dogs are also not permitted at events. Upon entering our space you are consenting to photography/videography that may be used for promotional purposes.
Please reach out to info@nycdrawingroom.com if you have any questions in the meantime.
