Jason T. Andrew | I exited at $92 Million. What Now?
Each year, over 10,000 companies raise venture funding—but fewer than 4% ever exit above $90M. I was one of them. We sold Limelight Health for $92M. I lived in Silicon Valley for 20 years and have raised over $100M from VC, PE, Angels and others and built multiple companies. I got kicked out of high school my junior year and landed in Portland on my 17th birthday.
From the outside, that’s the dream. But what came after—burnout, personal loss, and a complete redefinition of success—wasn’t in the pitch deck. In this talk, I’ll share what it really takes to build something big, what nearly dying on Mt. Shasta taught me about leadership, and why the emotional and mental toll of this work needs to be talked about.
Now, I lead Zoë Foundry, a venture studio building three companies a year in the insurance and benefits space. We Raised our first $5M fund - And I’m doing it differently—intentionally, with mental health and human sustainability at the core. With ~5.5M new businesses started each year and only ~35% surviving a decade, this is about more than exits—it’s about how we lead, and who we are when the climb gets quiet. I also own a hair salon in downtown Portland. (https://metromanhairsalon.com/ ). Passionate about the community and excited to be back!
