Clay Club: Ceramic Vessels
If you’re sick!! of staring at a screen and looking to get your introduce a practice of play + tactile making into your life— clay club is made<3 for <3 u<3
At this ceramic vessel clay club, you'll get to build your own mug, small vase, or pitcher using the slab building technique.
Perfect for beginners looking to explore the world of clay, we'll cover the basics of slab building techniques, providing all materials and templates for you to create a stunning first vessel of your choosing<3 It will be playful and communal and oh so very hands on, we can't wait to create with you!
Customization options include:
-Choice of brown speckled or white speckled clay
-Choice of creating either a mug, pouring vessel or small vase. Templates for each will be provided!
-Customization of your vessel's handles
Final pieces will be roughly 4x4-5in, glazed on the inside and ready to pickup from the studio within 4 weeks.
As with all RecCreate events, you can expect to go on this journey with a room full of lovely strangers. We’ll offer opportunities for connection throughout our time— encouraging the spirit of the collective. It is (so) much more fun to get to create together.
What can I expect from a club at RecCreate?
We design all of our clubs at RecCreate to feel like going over to a friends apartment for a craft hang where they took care of grabbing all the materials and show you the basics before the music starts bumping! Our emphasis is on process, play and community building, with conversation prompts throughout.
Getting Here
The venue is a ~hidden~ art studio located at 20 Grand ave in brooklyn on the 6th floor of a commercial building! When you arrive, buzz #604, push to open and take the elevator up to 6 (push the elevator button until it turns red.!!) Take a right out of the elevator, and a left at the end of the hallway. The door will be the first one on your right.
Cancelation Policy
Unfortunately for this event tickets are non-refundable/exchange-able! Please double check your calendar. In the event you are no longer able to make it, you are welcome to give your ticket to a friend or swap it on our ticket swap board. Just tell them to use your name!

Age Restriction & Dogs
All guests must be 18+ to attend and though we love your pups, unfortunately cannot have them in the studio!
