About Event

What you’ll do:

This hands-on workshop walks you through building and deploying your first remote MCP server — using Python, FastMCP, and hosted on FastMCP Cloud. By the end of the session, you’ll have a live, sharable server URL that tools like Claude AI, Claude Desktop, or Cursor can call over the Model Context Protocol (MCP).
We’ll cover everything from writing your first tool definitions to deploying and testing with real agent clients. You’ll leave with something running, tested, and production‑ready (and a better understanding of what MCP is really good at).

Speaker:
Jeremiah Lowin is the Founder and CEO of Prefect and the author of FastMCP. A recovering data practitioner and founding member of the Apache Airflow PMC, he now builds products that simplify complex data and AI pipelines and advises companies like Spotify on technology strategy. He holds a master’s in statistics from Harvard and lives in Washington, DC.
