About Event

Join us for a powerful and creative session at Malakas, Matapang, Palaban (Strong, Fierce, Fighter), where art meets resistance. In this Filipina feminist calligraphy workshop, participants will learn the basics of brush calligraphy while honoring the stories and struggles of Filipina women who have fought, and continue to fight, for human rights, justice, and a liberated future.

As you practice your strokes and letterforms, you’ll also be introduced to the names and lives of Filipina organizers, revolutionaries, and everyday women whose courage and resistance have shaped our histories and communities.

This space is for those who want to use art as a political practice, who understand that storytelling is a form of resistance, and who are ready to link creative practice with collective memory.

Whether you're new to calligraphy or a seasoned artist, come write her name, speak her story, and be part of a space for feminist resistance through art.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

All materials, including brush pens and practice sheets, will be provided. Participants will take home a calligraphy worksheet and some freebies from Pinay Collection as part of their registration to the space.
