About Event

Join a lively evening at Teaism Penn Quarter as we dive into the juicy topic of sustainable food and who's really winning the narrative. Featuring Dr. Sydney Pryor of George Washington University, we will dive into how public perception shapes our food choices, sustainability trends, and which voices are truly influencing the conversation. Bring your curiosity and enjoy one of Teaism's delicious plant-based entrees as we mingle with fellow food enthusiasts, sustainability advocates, and narrative-shapers alike. Let's unpack the stories behind our plates and have some fun along the way!

Your ticket includes shared apps and a selection from Teaism's plant-based entrees.

About the speaker

Dr. Pryor is a Postdoctoral Research Associate and Professional Lecturer in the Department of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences at the Milken Institute School of Public Health. Her research explores the complex relationship between the U.S. agrifood system and human and planetary health with a specific focus on high rates of red and processed meat consumption as a key driver of climate change and diet-related chronic disease. Sydney is passionate about growing attention to the role agrifood systems can play as a solution to the climate crisis through research, advocacy, and teaching, as well as supporting policy decision-making related to sustainable diets and equitable food and nutrition security at the local and federal level.

Sydney holds a B.S. in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise from Virginia Tech, an MPH in Chronic Disease Epidemiology and Public Health Modeling from Yale, and a PhD in Health Policy from GW.
