James Lucas is the Lead of Innovation Alliances at Interac, where he drives strategic partnerships with emerging ecosystem players, financial institutions, and acquirers to advance opportunities in payments, verification, and secure transactions. With over a decade at Interac, he’s helped evolve the company from a debit network into a key pillar of Canada’s payment system. James has led major initiatives, including transit open payments and portfolio growth with top financial institutions. He works to ensure Interac stays at the forefront of financial innovation. Outside of work, James enjoys Toronto’s sports scene and spending time with his wife, two dogs, and young son.

Josh Green is the Co-Founder of BorderPass, a global mobility platform that uses generative AI to automate immigration processes and ongoing compliance. BorderPass is one of Canada's fastest-growing companies, helping people around the world navigate their pathways with trusted guidance and clarity. Josh co-founded BorderPass Canada in 2020.

Michael Shum is the CEO of Cascade Debt, on a mission to democratize access to private debt and alternative credit through technology. A serial entrepreneur with over 15 years in finance and tech, Michael has co-founded an impact-focused private debt fund, managed one of the largest portfolios at a global bank, and built ventures spanning recycling to frontier market investing. His diverse experience includes landmark structured credit deals across Latam and SE Asia, early investments in Rwanda’s stock market, and board leadership for youth-focused charities. Michael brings a unique global perspective to financial innovation.

Aditya Mhatre is the Co-Founder and CPTO of My Beacon, a fintech “super app” dedicated to simplifying financial experiences for newcomers to Canada by integrating international payments, bill pay, and personalized financial tools. With over a decade of experience in scaling mobile-first products, he has held leadership roles at Paytm Canada, PayPay Japan, and Reliance Jio before launching Beacon . His work combines deep product development, fintech innovation, and personal immigration experience to guide Beacon’s mission: empowering immigrants to build financial confidence and belonging in their new home.

Dejan Mirkovic is the CEO and Co-Founder of Goose Insurance Services, Canada’s leading Insurance Super-App, and SmartBunny in the U.S. A serial insurtech entrepreneur, Dejan has helped redefine consumer insurance access through mobile-first, self-serve platforms across 40 North American markets. His ventures—Goose, SmartBunny, and Square One Insurance—have collectively sold over 500,000 policies, with a combined annual premium run-rate of $300M+. He also co-founded Cityfone, Canada’s first independent MVNO, acquired by Rogers Wireless.
