Spring is in the air! Join Us for a Walking Tour of Houston’s Upper Museum District! Bring you families and friends for the fun and educational event!

Meeting Point: In front of the Link-Lee Mansion, University of St. Thomas campus

Event Details:

Bring your family and friends for an enriching walking tour through Houston’s Upper Museum District. This guided tour will explore significant historical, architectural, and cultural landmarks, offering insights into the rich heritage of the area.

Highlights of the Tour:

University of St. Thomas Campus:

Link-Lee Mansion: Explore this historic mansion, a cornerstone of the university’s heritage.

Hughes House: Learn about the childhood home of Howard Hughes, adding a personal touch to Houston’s history.

Philip Johnson’s Academic Mall and Chapel of St. Basil: Experience the architectural brilliance of Philip Johnson, featuring the serene Chapel of St. Basil.

Rothko Chapel:

Visit this non-denominational chapel founded by John and Dominique de Menil, housing fourteen profound paintings by Mark Rothko. The chapel serves as a space for reflection and art appreciation.

The Menil Collection:

Explore this renowned art museum designed by architect Renzo Piano, showcasing an impressive array of art pieces.

Menil Park:

Conclude the tour with a leisurely stroll through Menil Park, a green oasis perfect for relaxation and family activities.

TrueLeap Pop Up Library

Featuring children's book authors, story time, and parachute activities for kids and families, brought to you with love by TrueLeap and Paolo Mangili, Author of "Space Architects: The Celestial Adventures of Stella and Rob-8."
