About Event

Dating in DC? We’re tired.

The apps are dry. The banter is dead.

Everyone’s too cool to care, and no one kisses anymore. We need a reset button. Or at least a night out that doesn’t feel like a job interview.

How it works :

You show up.
You fill out a short, slightly cryptic questionnaire — the kind that makes you feel things and also wonder, “How is this relevant?”

Then?
The algorithm takes over.
(Not in a dystopian way. In a “maybe this will help me make out with someone interesting” way.)

All night, you’ll get clues.
Hints. Vibes. Little nudges toward the person Matchbox thinks might be your match.

Yes, there’s actual science behind it.
Matchbox uses relationship research, a little AI, and a Nobel Prize-winning matching theory to pair people up.
It’s the same team behind the viral Marriage Pact that’s matched over half a million people at 100+ colleges.

And finally—
After mingling, cocktails, and maybe a few false leads… the countdown begins.
Matches are revealed.

We’re not saying it’ll work. We’re not saying it won’t.

We’re just saying it’s gonna be hot, weird, and actually fun.

A little sci-fi. A little serendipity. A little social experiment.

Maybe it’s nothing.
Maybe it’s something.
Maybe it’s everything.

Who’s to say?

Ticket Includes: admission to event & all night happy hour at the Craft

Who it’s for:

  • This event is for people 25-35

  • The matching process is highly intentional—come with an open mind!

  • If your match isn’t love at first sight, that’s okay! The algorithm is designed for long-term compatibility, so at baseline, you’ll be values-aligned.

  • At the end of the day, this will be a great group of single people. Enjoy meeting everyone, and remember to be kind.

Event Structure:

  • This event is highly intentional and the matching will proceed on schedule. Please be on time.

  • 10:30pm—event concludes

FAQs:

Q: What age range is the event for? A: This event is for mid-twenties to mid-thirties.

Q: What if I don't get a match? A: We aim to maintain a 50/50 male to female ratio but cannot guarantee that all attendees will show up, as life happens. If there is an uneven split, some matches will be paired platonically. These people receive a free ticket to a future event of their choice, valid for 60 days after this event.

Q: What is your refund policy? A: We need to balance the party, and that involves planning! So no refunds can be granted within 4 days of the event, although in rare cases we may be able to extend a credit to a future event.
