Pen to Paper
General event description here.
This month's theme is: Reflection through Writing.
Bring the worlds of your mind to life through scene work.
In this session, we’ll create short scenes and tableaus inspired by objects in the space or creations you’ve previously made. We'll start with a grounding meditation and moment of connection among the group before moving into fun and challenging writing exercises to ease you out of your comfort zone.
Then, we'll examine objects in the room or pieces you’ve brought to the workshop as a starting place for a scene. What happens if two clay figurines meet at a bus stop, or what happens when the muse of a painting on the wall tries to buy a coffee at a busy cafe?
The scene work is a great way to change your point of view and make fantasies real. Perfect for anyone who wants to shake up an existing creative practice or is looking for inspiration for any narrative-based board games.
This workshop will be a safe space for creative expression without judgment. We will have ample opportunity to share work or personal experiences to explore vulnerability, language, humor, poetry, and storytelling.
Great to come solo or with friends. Beginner oriented!!
IMPORTANT NOTES: All tickets are final sale. We are a shoes-off, socks-required space; please bring your own socks or we have some for purchase for $1. Our events are geared towards connection through creativity; for many, you will be sitting around shared tables. Unfortunately, during ticketed events, we are unable to accommodate any children/babies under 5 years of age. Dogs are also not permitted at events. Upon entering our space you are consenting to photography/videography that may be used for promotional purposes.
