About Event

Freshly unveiled at the Wellcome Trust on September 25th, the final version of the ‘Responsible Handover Framework’ is now ready for the scientific and AI community.

The term responsible handover in this context reflects the collaborative process between contractors and commissioners of scientific software or infrastructure projects – communicating what has been done, the extent of testing and the limits of where it works, at every point in development and application: every time it is ‘handed over’ to a different person, organisation or context.

Sense about Science developed the ‘Responsible Handover Framework’ as a tool to facilitate that process. It’s the result of scoping and prioritising intervention points in the research ecosystem, including funding, data & code sharing, professional practice, commissioning, licensing and regulation.

Join us as we speak with Tracey Brown, Director of Sense about Science, to learn more about the framework and how it's been developed, as well as discussing cases of the framework being implemented and consider how to take it forward to improve practice.

Meanwhile, the final framework can be found here for your perusal.
