AI x Buddhism: A Socratic Dialogue with Jansen Stovicek (Ashin Sarana)
We are honored to welcome Jansen Stovicek, widely known in his former monastic life as Ashin Sarana, to the Human Flourishing Floor for a reflective Socratic-style dialogue on September 24, 4–6 PM. With nearly 16 years in robes—beginning as a novice in Sri Lanka where he earned a BA in Buddhist Philosophy and Pali language, followed by full bhikkhu ordination in Myanmar and five years of deep meditation and teachings—Jansen brings rare insight born of lived discipline and global service . His journey included leading loving-kindness meditations, teaching on Sri Lankan TV to millions, and supporting interfaith and public audiences across Asia and beyond .
This will not be a lecture, but an open and reflective conversation. The evening will begin with a 30–40 minute presentation, where Mr. Jansen will share perspectives from the Tipitaka scriptures and Buddhist tradition on some of the pressing ethical and philosophical questions we face today. Following that, we will open into a guided discussion, exploring two core questions together in depth, with space for participants to ask, reflect, and collaborate on practical outcomes.
This is a unique opportunity to engage directly in a Socratic-style dialogue at the intersection of Buddhist thought and emerging technologies—an evening of supportive wisdom and shared inquiry.
