Take the elevators to the Mezzanine floor of 9Zero (350 California St). The art exhibit will be open to the public throughout the week 8am - 6pm, during the 20+ events taking place in the building.

How will we design our future relationship with nature?

Amidst San Francisco Climate Week’s rich discussion of carbon and climate, we face an underlying problem: our struggling relationship to nature. Across the board, we are over-extracting, under-valuing, and always-consuming at ever more harmful levels.

Our collective relationship with the ecosystems we inhabit will inevitably have to shift. What might that world look like?

NATURAL UNCERTAINTIES introduces art to grapple with these questions, using beautiful and haunting depictions of alternative futures to encourage us to reflect on our own. Art allows us to envision the old and new with different perspectives, encouraging more fundamental shifts in belief. NATURAL UNCERTAINTIES—with art from Grist and independent artists along the West Coast and around the world—invites you to step into artists’ depictions of alternative futures, and to imagine alongside us the future we want to inhabit.

Natural Uncertainties is an exhibit of art pioneering what our future relationships to nature might look like, in a time of uncertainty. It is curated and produced by Natalia Vasquez, Conor Farese, and Justine Sun Dela Cruz.
