


“Sàigòn to Seattle: 50 Years After the War” Film Screening
Friends of Little Sài Gòn invites community members, organizations, institutions, and advocacy groups to join us in commemorating the stories of Vietnamese refugees in King County and their journey over the past 50 years.
This event series includes the premier screening of the FLS-produced short film Sàigòn to Seattle: 50 Years After the War.
The film will have multiple screenings on Saturday, May 3rd at Hoa Mai Park. This family-friendly event includes music and cultural performances as well as the opportunity to pose for family portraits. These portraits will be featured in an upcoming exhibit at the Little Saigon Creative about individuals and families affected by the Vietnam War.
The film features oral histories, background research about the Vietnam War, and the history of the Vietnamese community in King County. It also touches on the development of Seattle’s Little Saigon neighborhood. including economic development in Little Saigon and migration waves. A booklet will accompany the film with additional research, oral histories, and archival photographs.
