Kurt: After leaving his role as CTO of Synopsys, Kurt Keutzer became a Professor in EECS at the University of California, Berkeley. For two decades his research has focused on making machine learning, Neural Networks, Large Language Models, and most recently, Agentic Systems, computationally efficient. His research collaborations are showcased in five papers at ICML this year. As an angel investor and advisor Kurt loves helping entrepreneurs find the startup potential of their technological innovations. Among his recent investments and/or advising engagements are BabbleLabs (acquired by Cisco), Covariant (acquired by Amazon), OmniML (acquired by Nvidia), Perplexity, Prompt.ai, and Sima.ai. Kurt also stepped up to co-founder roles at DeepScale (acquired by Tesla), Nexusflow.ai (recently acquired), Narada, and SigIQ.ai. Point72 Ventures co-led or led funding rounds at both DeepScale and Nexusflow.ai.
Bill: Bill is the founder and CEO of Pokee AI, a horizontal agent company focused on complex enterprise workflows that just announced a $12M seed raise led by Point72 Ventures. Bill was most recently the head of Meta’s Applied Reinforcement Learning group. The Applied Reinforcement Learning group aims to bring the state-of-the-art reinforcement learning technology to life by pushing the frontier of industry-ready reinforcement learning technologies. He received a PhD in reinforcement learning from Stanford University, advised by Professor Benjamin van Roy. Bill's personal research interest lies in bridging the gap between theoretical reinforcement learning with practical applications. Some of the reinforcement learning topics that Bill is particularly interested in are improving sample complexity, handling nonstationarity, generalization of value functions, and representation of agent-environment history.
