Join us for an evening of reflection, performance, and conversation as we gather to mark the release of Third Spaces: What Do You Hear?—the 2025 edition of the interdisciplinary magazine produced through the Diaspora & Transnational Studies Faculty at the University of Toronto.
This year’s theme explores the relationship between diaspora and sound—how it shapes space, identity, memory, and movement. The event brings together contributors, artists, and community members for live music, guest speakers, and interactive installations rooted in shared experience.
What to Expect:
– Live musical performances
– Guest speakers from the editorial team, creative contributors, and UofT Press
– Interactive stations on sound, identity, and memory
– DJ set and community gathering
– One complimentary drink with entry
Event Schedule:
8:00–8:15 → Arrival
8:15–8:45 → Musical performances
8:50–9:15 → Guest speakers
9:15–9:30 → Final music set
9:30–10:00 → DJ, mingling, and installations

– Post-it wall: What is sound/identity to you?
– Gallery wall featuring process and imagery
– Freebie station with bookmarks and stickers
