DCRC Trail Series #3 The Backyard Burn
The Deep Cove Run Club is excited to launch its final event of the 2025 season. The Finale.
You've asked for them, we've listened and are excited to share that the final race of the series will tackle the trails that we run on every single week. The Old Time Classics are back baby!
**Every ticket also includes a meal at the end-of-year barbecue that will take place right after the race, more info down below**
As with all our other events, times are added up after each event so participate in all 3 to get your final ranking!
As a third event, we are excited to show you the best of what the DCRC has to offer (within the legal boundaries that we have to play with). On the menu, we have 19km and 900m of vert. Full course map can be found here.
**This course is not flagged. You are encouraged to have the course downloaded on your watch.** We will have an aid station at Parkgate Park (at the start/end), as well as at the Mushroom parking lot. Water and and snacks will be provided. Start time is 8.30 AM, please check in before 8.15 AM. We will not wait for any late soul.
To spice things up, two Queen/King of the hills segments will be created. One of them will represent the fastest time on one uphill and the other the fastest time on one downhill. These segments will be shared closer to race day.
We will be tracking times in two ways 1) volunteers will be keeping track of arriving times 2) a Strava segment of the entire course will be created ahead of September 20th. This way, we will ensure fair competition among participants. Results are shared on the DCRC website with an updated leaderboard after each event.
After-party 🎉
After the race, we will gather to celebrate the end of the season around a well-deserved barbecue. Each participant in the final race of the series (and volunteer) will receive a burger/smokies/veggies alternatives and 2 non-alcoholics drinks.
We will communicate closer to the event on where the barbecue will take place — it will be close to Parkgate Park (will depend on weather).
As always, expect tons of food, some Belgian Waffles and some smiles.
Entry is by donation and proceeds will go towards aid station snacks, finish line festivities and a North Shore Rescue Donation (if there are any leftovers).
If you have purchased a hat earlier this year, you should have received a Coupon Code that will give you a free entry for the entirety of the series. Reach out to Dorian if you have not received this code.
We cannot wait to see you there!
