Circular food systems: Compost Outpost tour at the Urban Farm Incubator

​Join Compost Crew & ECO City Farms for a tour of the Compost Outpost at the Urban Farm Incubator at Watkins Park. The Compost Outpost is part of a distributed composting system with multiple locations around the DMV. Food scraps are brought to area farms for processing to reduce the distance that the materials need to be hauled. Also, the finished compost can be put to use right on the farm, creating a "local loop" that benefits the community. Get out during DC Climate Week to see how these local companies are diverting waste and helping restore our soil.
