About Event

Join us for the Spring Recital of Stanford Guzheng Ensemble, an evening where timeless Chinese artistry meets contemporary expression.

Our program features both contemporary guzheng ensemble pieces and reimagined classics, performed together with percussion and Western strings. Audiences will be treated to expressive contemporary compositions such as Frost to Flourish (冬虫夏草) and Tear of Glaze (琉璃误), as well as the enchanting fusion of guzheng melodies and classic Chinese opera in The Deep Night (夜深沉). The concert will also showcase two captivating solo performances: Ming Mountain(溟山) and Calming the Wave(定风波).

Through intricate melodies and rich harmonies, our musicians weave a tapestry of sound, sharing the stories and traditions that shape this music’s poetic elegance.

Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. We kindly recommend planning your visit in advance to ensure a comfortable experience.
